Require police forces to obtain and review relevant Family Court transcripts and protected evidence where credible material suggests false reporting, perjury or other criminal conduct, using lawful disclosure procedures and recording written reasons if they refuse.
Family Court confidentiality should not prevent police from investigating credible evidence of criminal conduct. Where primary police or other authoritative records conflict with reports or evidence used in Family Court proceedings, police should obtain the relevant transcripts or protected material through lawful disclosure procedures, compare the evidence, and record clear written reasons if they decide not to pursue that line of enquiry.
