We want the Government to remove all Fuel Duty and VAT on road fuel. Motorists already pay many other taxes. We feel that double-taxing fuel is unfair, hits families and small businesses hardest, and should end immediately.

Additional details

We call on the UK Government to abolish Fuel Duty and VAT on road fuel since motorists already pay Income Tax, National Insurance, Vehicle Excise Duty and insurance costs. For most people, fuel is essential not a luxury, yet it is taxed twice. We believe Fuel Duty and VAT on road fuel hits low income families, rural households, small businesses and key workers hardest. High fuel costs also push up prices across the whole economy. We feel that people deserve to keep more of what they earn so this unfair double taxation now should end now.
