Change eligibility for all free childcare for working parents so international researchers and research students lawfully living and working or studying in the UK can access all funded childcare regardless of visa restrictions on access to public funds.

Additional details

The UK recruits talented researchers from around the world, but many cannot access some funded childcare because of visa restrictions. This can make returning to research after having a child financially difficult, particularly for women. We believe international PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, fellows and other research staff should not face an additional childcare barrier simply because of their immigration status.
