Require free allergy badges and bracelets for children with food allergies — 12 signatures. Status: open.
Provide children with diagnosed food allergies with a free, standardised allergy identification bracelet and badge. These should clearly display allergens and a recognised warning such as “FOOD ALLERGY ” helping adults quickly identify children who may be at risk of a serious allergic reaction.
I see first-hand how difficult it can be to identify and protect children at risk of anaphylaxis. I want the Government to introduce a clear, nationally recognised allergy identification scheme, such as standard wristbands or visible ID, for children with diagnosed food allergies. This could help staff recognise allergies quickly, reduce accidental exposure and improve safety in schools and public settings.
