Review student visa immigration sponsorship errors — 9 signatures. Status: open.
We are concerned that students who rely on sponsorship are negatively impacted by errors in UKVI reporting by universities. We call on such a review to consider the merits of allowing students to be informed of such reporting, and an independent appeals process when errors are suspected.
We call for a review to help establish fair and transparent safeguards for international students whose immigration status may be affected by university reports to UKVI. We think students should be able to know what is reported about them and/or appeal possible inaccuracies transparently. We also seek a fair process for students already affected by potentially incorrect or unfair reports, allowing errors to be corrected and their academic and immigration circumstances to be reconsidered where appropriate.
