We believe the punishment for rapists is not nearly harsh enough and a mandatory life sentence is the only way to protect the public from them and to prevent repeat offences.

Additional details

We believe current sentencing is clearly too lenient on people who can cause severe mental health issues that can lead to death, the same eventual consequence that murder has - and murder has a mandatory life sentence. We feel it's genuinely a disappointment that the legal system can allow such a severe crime to be punished by something less than a mandatory life sentence.
