Mandate clinical specialists such as neurologists on assessment panels for complex neurological conditions. We believe many with complex neurological conditions (Posterior cortical atrophy, Parkinson's, MND, atypical dementias) can face systemic refusal of NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding.

Additional details

We are concerned that integrated Care Boards (ICBs) can reclassify severe visual, spatial, behavioural and cognitive needs as "social care," shifting 24/7 care costs onto families. We believe generic panels lack neurological expertise, undervaluing complex symptoms. We feel that ICBs routinely breach the Coughlan precedent by stripping funding once skilled care stabilises patients.
