Pause military support for Ukraine and hold a referendum

Pause military support for Ukraine and hold a referendum — 178 signatures. Status: open.

Petition background

The government has spent billions supporting Ukraine in the conflict. We believe this has no strategic or economic interest to the UK and that it’s adversely affected the cost of energy and of living. There should be a pause in the policy until there is a national debate and referendum on the issue.

Additional details

We believe the UK should have remained neutral in the conflict in 2022. There have been many casualties since then on both sides. The UK has officially given Ukraine £16bn in military support and we think now the government is risking British security by its support for Ukraine. Some of the sanctions and policies against Russia have also contributed to the major rise in energy and cost of living costs since the conflict began.
