No direct or indirect military action on behalf of Ukraine, without a Referendum

No direct or indirect military action on behalf of Ukraine, without a Referendum — 70 signatures. Status: open.

Petition background

The government has spent billions prolonging the Ukraine conflict, which is of no strategic or economic interest to the UK. This policy has adversely affected the cost of energy and of living. There should be a pause in the policy until there is a national debate and Referendum on the issue.

Additional details

UK governments have been stoking up conflict in Ukraine for many years, without any approval from the British public, who are a peace loving nation. The UK should have kept out of the conflict in 2022, but instead discouraged peace efforts. There has been mass slaughter since then on both sides. The UK has officially given Ukraine £25bn and now the government is risking British security by involvement in attacks on Russia. There has been a consequent major rise in energy and cost of living costs
