Petition to oppose planned modifications to Newcastle Under Lyme Islamic Centre — 15 signatures. Status: rejected.
We, the local residents of The Westlands, Newcastle strongly oppose the planned modifications to Newcastle Under Lyme Islamic Centre. We strongly request that the local government hears our concerns and puts this planning proposal to a Planning Committee rather than a single planning officer.
Any modifications to the Islamic Centre are likely to significantly increase the capacity, meaning increased traffic, parking & disturbance in the local residential area. Even with the current capacity we, the local residents, experience significant problems with on street parking during times of prayer & festivals to the extent where roads and pavements become impassible. The management of the Centre are already well aware & are unable to control the situation even at it's current capacity.
