Airports should have at least one facility which holds food that can safely cater to people who have medical dietary requirements related to the 14 main allergens.Travelling can be long and exhausting,it’s worse when you have to worry about whether you can safely eat, meaning some can’t eat at all.
When you are in an airport, you will find that there are a variety of food options. However, having a food related medical condition often means you cannot consider any of these options. There are still risks with cross contamination which is still enough for someone to become incredibly ill. By ensuring there is one station which holds allergen friendly food, it ensures that more people are able to eat properly and aren’t left with the option to make themselves poorly, or to not eat at all.
