Allow Skilled Workers to change employers without a full visa reapplication — 8 signatures. Status: open.
Create a streamlined sponsorship-transfer process for Skilled Worker visa holders moving to another licensed sponsor in the same occupation code and meeting the same skill and salary requirements. They should not need a full visa reapplication or repeat visa/IHS charges for leave already granted.
Once the Home Office has assessed and approved a Skilled Worker’s immigration status, skills and eligibility, moving to another licensed sponsor in the same or substantially similar occupation should not mean repeating the full visa process. Reapplication fees, IHS, sponsorship charges and legal costs can run into thousands of pounds, discouraging job moves and leaving workers unnecessarily dependent on one employer.
