Petition the Government to develop a contingency framework of diplomatic, trade, procurement/import measures that could be implemented in response to any official foreign action that undermines the sovereignty of the Falklands or the right of Islanders to self-determination, to act as a deterrent.
We call on the Government to prepare contingencies for any foreign action undermining Falkland Islands self-determination, including: ✓ New Big Tech regulations in event of politicised map-label changes ✓ proportionate diplomatic/territorial countermeasures in response to diplomatic threats ✓ guidance for the hospitality sector on wine, liquor and cola procurement (akin to the delisting of Russian vodkas) ✓ market restrictions where foreign actions appear to legitimise coercion or aggression.
