We want the Government to increase the £7,400 annual household income threshold used to determine eligibility for Pupil Premium through Free School Meals, so that more children from low-income working families can receive support.

Additional details

Pupil Premium helps schools support disadvantaged pupils, but the current £7,400 household income threshold excludes many low-income families who still struggle with everyday costs. The threshold should reflect the financial reality families face today. Raising it would allow more children from low-income households to benefit from additional educational support and help reduce inequalities in education.
