Restrict low-level helicopter and airship flights over residential zones — 7 signatures. Status: open.
We call on the government and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to tighten regulations regarding flight paths, minimum altitudes, and noise limits for helicopters, airships, and all sightseeing flights operating over residential areas in Greater London and across the country
Residents living in urban residential areas are reporting an increasingly intrusive volume of low-flying aircraft over their homes and gardens. We urge the Department for Transport and the CAA to: 1. Increase the statutory minimum altitude for flights over residential areas. 2. Establish restricted flight corridors that redirect low-altitude traffic away from residential neighbourhoods. 3. Introduce enforceable noise limits and stricter penalties for operators who breach altitude guidelines.
