The Rugby League World Cup will be broadcast exclusively on the subscription channel Premier Sports later this year, after the BBC opted against renewing its coverage. ​While the BBC has historically been the primary home for international rugby league—most recently broadcasting all three Ashes Tests last year—this shift marks a major departure from tradition, moving the tournament off free-to-air television I think this is shameful lack of respect to the global game and insulting to the fans.
