Petition background

We want the government to introduce a nationally recognised, removable vehicle identification sign for funeral corteges, which may be displayed on a max of 3 immediate-family vehicles travelling directly behind the funeral vehicles.

Additional details

The purpose would be to clearly identify these vehicles as part of the funeral cortege, so that other road users can recognise the procession and, where it is safe and lawful/legal to do so, avoid unnecessarily separating the immediate family from the funeral vehicles during the final journey of their loved one.
