Strengthen enforcement against loud and dangerous driving in residential areas — 21 signatures. Status: rejected.
ntroduce stronger national enforcement against deliberate engine revving, illegal loud exhausts, racing and drifting in residential areas, with substantial fines, noise cameras and powers to seize vehiclesespecially those without visible registration plates or involved in repeat offences.
Residents are regularly disturbed during the day and awakened as late as 2 a.m. by drivers deliberately revving engines, racing and drifting through residential streets. Some vehicles have excessively loud exhausts or no visible registration plates. Despite repeated police reports, the behaviour continues, damaging residents’ health, sleep and sense of safety while endangering pedestrians and road users. Stronger penalties and vehicle seizure are needed.
