The plan to introduce free Bee Network travel for 11–16s from January 2027 excludes children aged 5–10. This financially penalises families with younger children facing identical cost-of-living pressures, costing them up to £500 a year per child. Differentiating travel rights strictly based on age within compulsory education is unfair.
