Help working class children go to University — 7 signatures. Status: rejected.
Working class children are at an immediate disadvantage when going to university. Not only do they struggle during their time at University, but they also struggle with the amount of debt and interest rate they have to pay off afterwards.
Many people that want to go to university to benefit them in the world of work are deciding against it purely because of the lack of financial resources for them. They are putting off their dream jobs because they can’t afford to get a degree. This means they have to settle for a job they may not like, which could lead to serious issues like mental health problems. We also are supposedly lacking in engineers, doctors, and other professionals, but we aren’t helping ourselves at all with this.
