Mandatory accountability and independent dispute resolution for UK Couriers — 21 signatures. Status: rejected.
I am calling on the UK Government to introduce measures that ensure courier companies operating in Scotland are subject to fair‑conduct rules, independent dispute resolution, and minimum rural‑access standards.
At present, courier companies can refuse service without investigation, oversight, or appeal. They may record inaccurate or exaggerated allegations, refuse essential deliveries, and disrupt access to goods relied upon by rural communities. There is no independent review mechanism, and no obligation to provide alternative delivery arrangements This lack of regulation disproportionately affects rural households, farms, and vulnerable residents who depend on courier access for essential supplies
