Require food, drink, beauty and cosmetic products sold in the UK to display an ingredient risk-rating score on packaging, such as Nutri-Score or Yuka score, which evaluates ingredient risk based on data from independent scientific research studies.
Nutri-Score, already adopted in seven European countries, and apps like Yuka provide detailed information on the risk of additives in products, as well as their nutritional balance. Scores are generated according to the latest data from the European Food Safety Authority, the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer, and independent scientific research studies. Such scores will encourage consumers to make healthier choices, and producers to improve the quality of products sold.
