Introduce a new licence category for lightweight electric trail bikes. We feel current categories are outdated, and may classify these as full motorbikes which many, in our view, clearly are not. They're new technology which we feel needs a new classification, not just thrown into an existing one.

Technology has evolved, and we feel light electric trail bikes do not fit existing vehicle categories. We call on the government to introduce a new legal category for lightweight electric trail bikes. Creating a distinct 'Light Electric Trail Vehicle' class with specific weight, power, and trail speed limits would allow responsible riders to legally and courteously enjoy public bridleways and byways. These bikes can give people freedom.
