Stop the ISA Changes

Stop the ISA Changes — 15 signatures. Status: rejected.

Petition background

Do not proceed with the planned April 2027 ISA changes. Reducing the Cash ISA limit to £12,000 and taxing uninvested cash in Stocks & Shares ISAs will not encourage investing. It will create confusion, discourage saving, and scrapping these changes would be a positive step by the new Government.

Additional details

These changes risk making ISAs more complicated, not simpler. Reducing the Cash ISA allowance and taxing uninvested cash within Stocks & Shares ISAs is unlikely to encourage more people to invest. Instead, it will create confusion, deter saving and add unnecessary complexity. Abandoning these proposals would be an easy, positive decision for the new Government, showing a commitment to helping people build long-term financial security through simple, trusted savings rules.
