Include British Citizens Studying Medicine Abroad in NHS Training Prioritisation — 29 signatures. Status: open.
The Government should work to ensure the inclusion of British citizens who studied medicine abroad in internationally recognised institutions, in the NHS foundation and specialty training prioritisation, so they are not treated the same as overseas applicants without UK ties.
Some families have funded medical education abroad, expecting their children to return and serve in the NHS. UK citizenship should be recognised as part of the priority to ensure fairness, while strengthening the NHS with graduates whose training cost the UK nothing.
