Inspired by the passion and unity shown through national anthems at the FIFA World Cup, we call for an official anthem for England to sit alongside God Save the King—a song that reflects England today and brings people together with pride at sporting events and national occasions.

A National Commission should be established to explore & develop an anthem for England. Bringing together composers, lyricists, musicians, historians & the public, it should create a song that represents who we are today while honouring our history & traditions. God Save the King emerged as a popular song in 1745 and remains an important part of our heritage. However, like Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland, England deserves an anthem that unites, inspires & is proudly sung by future generations
