We want the Government to amend the Consumer Rights Act to grant consumers the same ownership, refund, and transfer rights for digital media purchases as they currently have for physical goods.
As entertainment shifts away from physical media, consumers face a growing deficit in digital rights. Buying digital content often only grants a revocable licence. We want the Government to amend the Consumer Rights Act to ensure digital purchases cannot be arbitrarily revoked or rendered unplayable by server shutdowns without compensation. Platform holders must also face strict accountability over broken products, unfair refund terms, account bans, and anti-competitive monopolies.
