With a 13% increase in Motorbike related deaths so far this year in 2026, it seems that almost daily there is a report of a new death. Change is needed to adjust attitude, education and awareness towards motorbikes and in turn hopefully reduce the risk to life. Too many have been lost needlessly.

Additional details

During driving lessons, learner drivers should have at least a lesson dedicated to awareness, education and attitude to motorbikes. There is such a huge misunderstanding and lack of education and awareness towards motorbikes which as a biker myself I’ve experienced. Motorbikes do not and cannot operate like cars, we share the roads with car drivers who seemingly have no understanding of this. Creating a dangerous gap where lives are and rapidly being lost.
