Add Anti-Racism as a subject into the National Curriculum

Add Anti-Racism as a subject into the National Curriculum — 27 signatures. Status: open.

Petition background

Make anti-racism education a compulsory subject in the national curriculum. We believe all students should learn about racism, prejudice, unconscious bias, equality and inclusion to help create safer, more respectful schools and better prepare young people for life in a diverse society.

Additional details

Racism and racial prejudice continue to affect many young people in schools and wider society. We believe all students should receive age-appropriate anti-racism education that promotes understanding, respect and inclusion. Teaching about the history and impact of racism, unconscious bias and discrimination can help challenge harmful attitudes, reduce prejudice and create safer, more welcoming school environments for everyone.
