When grocery or essential goods orders fail, refunds can take 3-5 working days. For low-income families, this can cause immediate hardship, including being unable to buy replacement food or essentials, even though the failure was caused by the retailer. The law should ensure customers are not left without money for essentials while waiting for refunds.
