I want the Government to debate harsher punishments for people proven to have made malicious false allegations of rape or sexual assault, and consider creating a register for offenders. False accusations can destroy lives, damage mental health, and undermine trust in genuine victims.

Additional details

False allegations of rape or sexual assault can ruin reputations, careers, relationships, and mental health. People falsely accused can face harassment, threats, and lasting damage even after being proven innocent. I believe proven malicious false accusations should carry stronger legal consequences, and the Government should debate whether a public register is needed. This would help protect innocent people while maintaining support for genuine victims.
