Make AI Firms Accountable for Child Exploitation Deepfakes — 6 signatures. Status: rejected.
AI companies must be legally required to prevent the creation of child exploitation deepfakes using their platforms. Firms that fail to implement effective safeguards should face serious penalties, while individuals creating or distributing this material should face tougher criminal sentences.
AI-generated child exploitation material and blackmail must carry severe criminal penalties. AI companies must be legally required to stop their software being used to create abusive deepfakes of children. If company owners knowingly fail to implement safeguards, they should face personal criminal liability, including prison sentences, not fines. Using local or modified AI systems to bypass protections should be treated as an aggravated offence.
