Express Yourself: Jewellery at School — 7 signatures. Status: rejected.
Permit small jewelry to support student identity & family ties. Government guidelines don't mandate a ban, and discrete items have zero impact on learning. Limits: Small studs, thin hidden necklaces, or one simple bracelet.
Recently schools have been cracking down on jewelery for no reason, yet the Government website says nothing about the wearing of jewelery is prohibitted - so why are schools making it an issue? Sometimes these pieces of jewelrey have been on for years before they even starting school and they can find comfort and a sence of identity in these items. Small pieces of jewelrey in a school environment (not PE) have no effect on learning and should be worn and have been no issues in previous years
