Because this Scheme cannot reimburse dairy and soya-free alternatives, families can face an unfair c£307 yearly "allergy tax" per child to provide safe, fortified cartons if they can. For low-income families, this can create a major nutritional deficit or force children to feel excluded. Government reviews have confirmed that fortified plant milks are safe. It's time to stop medically discriminating against children.
