Stop UK Government and Departments from labelling "State Pension" as benefits! — 6 signatures. Status: rejected.
I want the U.K. Government to debate this issue in Parliament and re-classify this as a government scheme that’s a right as we have paid into it as WORKERS! As a benefit, they are free to reduce or end it when the proceeds can go towards Working Age Benefits which is growing exponentially.
As State Pension has usually been contributed to over many years/decades, it seems wrong to call it a "benefit", and should revert back to what it has always been called, i.e. State Pension. I strongly object to the inference that I receive a "benefit", when I paid into the system for over 50 years! If we can get 100,000 signatures we can get our work shy MP’s to debate this in Parliament.
