Install enclosed suicide prevention barriers on motorway bridges across the UK — 21 signatures. Status: rejected.
Install enclosed anti-jump safety barriers on motorway bridges across the UK to help prevent suicides, protect vulnerable people, and improve public safety. Require National Highways to review high-risk bridges and introduce nationwide suicide prevention infrastructure.
Too many lives are being lost from motorway bridge incidents across the UK. We want the Government and National Highways to introduce enclosed anti-jump barriers or tunnel-style safety structures on motorway bridges nationwide. Physical barriers can help prevent impulsive actions during mental health crises, protect vulnerable people, and reduce trauma for families, motorists, witnesses and emergency services.
