If you are a victim of domestic violence and you have a child with the perpetrator and they have been charged with domestic violence, they automatically lose parental responsibility. For both men and women
If still in a current relationship with their abuser. Many people have been forced into putting their perpetrator on the birth certificate. If the relationship has ended and the abuser is on the birth certificate, many people have been controlled due to the other parent being on the birth certificate and using parental responsibility as a weapon. To stop this, would mean less control, less fear for yourself and the child/ren and less DV related suicides
